The Bioeconomy Working Group seeks to advance recognition of the bioeconomy as a strategic solution to global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, land degradation, and threats to human rights. It focuses on deepening understanding of the bioeconomy’s scope and showcasing clear, replicable business cases that demonstrate its effectiveness and scalability. The group also promotes greater alignment across the three Rio Conventions and the ICCPR, recognizing the interconnected nature of these crises. In parallel, it discusses the investment and technology cooperation needed to scale solutions. These efforts aim to help position the bioeconomy within global implementation agendas and support its long-term inclusion in future COP negotiations.
